Course description

Tree rigging covers the removal of sections from a tree crown under the control of rope rigging and lifting equipment when free-fall/hand thrown techniques are not appropriate. It covers a variety of rigging techniques and rigging systems. Successful candidates will achieve the necessary certification to use rigging equipment to dismantle a tree.  The course is broken down into three days training, concluding on the fourth day with an NPTC assessment. Candidates must already hold their CS30 Chainsaw Maintenance & Cross Cutting, CS31 Felling over 380mm, CS38 Tree Climbing & Aerial Rescue and CS39 Aerial Tree Cutting certifications to attend this course.tr

Who is the course for?

This course is relevant for tree surgeons and arborists who are familiar with aerial tree work with a chainsaw and wish to expand their expertise by understanding the use of rigging equipment.

Equipment requirements

Please ensure all climbing equipment is EN compliant and has appropriate LOLER certificates and PPE is in good condition. Equipment is available for hire if candidates do not yet have their own. Please contact the office for cost.
