How Do Our Last Minute Course Discounts Work?
Throughout the year, Ground Up Training delivers a wide range of professional chainsaw, tree climbing and arborist training courses.
As certain course dates approach, eligible courses automatically move into the Last Minute Discounted Courses section of our online booking calendar when they reach the relevant booking threshold.
These courses are then offered with a 10% discount, giving candidates an opportunity to secure professional training at a reduced price.
It’s a simple way of making the most of available training places while helping candidates save money.
Importantly, the quality of our training never changes.
You’ll receive the same course duration, practical instruction and independent assessment requirements as candidates paying the standard course price.
Which Tree Surgery Courses Could Be Discounted?
Our last-minute offers depend on upcoming course dates and availability, but discounted opportunities may include a variety of qualifications.
Chainsaw Maintenance and Tree Felling
For beginners entering the industry, our Chainsaw Training Courses provide the essential foundations for professional arboriculture.
These include:
CS30 Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-Cutting – Developing essential chainsaw maintenance, safe operation and cross-cutting skills.
CS31 Felling Trees up to 380mm – Learning safe directional felling techniques, timber processing and the management of hung-up trees.
For anyone considering a career in tree surgery, these qualifications are an excellent starting point.
Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue
Our CS38 Tree Climbing & Aerial Rescue Course is designed for candidates progressing towards becoming climbing arborists.
Over six days, candidates develop practical climbing, rope and harness, work-positioning and aerial rescue skills, with an independent assessment on the final day.
Aerial Chainsaw Training
Already qualified in tree climbing and aerial rescue?
Our CS39 Chainsaw from Rope & Harness Course provides the next stage of professional development, teaching candidates to safely operate a chainsaw while working in the tree.
Other specialist arborist and machinery courses may also become available at discounted prices.
Not every course is discounted at the same time, so checking our online calendar regularly is the best way to discover current opportunities.

Existing groundsmen wanting to gain their next qualification.
Experienced arborists developing additional climbing, cutting or specialist skills.
Tree surgery companies arranging staff training while keeping costs under control.
Self-employed arborists with flexibility to attend training at short notice.
If your schedule is flexible, a last-minute booking could be an excellent way to save money without delaying your professional development.
Ground Up Career Advice: Choose the Right Qualification
Although a 10% discount is an attractive opportunity, it’s important to choose a course that suits your current experience and career goals.
For example, if you’re completely new to tree surgery, we would generally recommend starting with ground-based chainsaw training before progressing towards climbing and aerial chainsaw qualifications.
Building your skills in the correct order is far more valuable than collecting certificates without the practical experience to support them.
If you’re unsure which course is right for you, explore our Arborist Training Packages or speak to our team for guidance.
