Powered Pole Pruner/Saw NPTC Level 2 Unit 205 (CS48)1-2 Day Course
Course description
This course covers learning techniques to prune trees using pole mounted, long reach pruning equipment, extendable pruning saws, powered pole pruners and loppers. Successful candidates will achieve the necessary certification to safely use pole saws to prune trees from the ground. The course is broken down into 1-2 days training, including the NPTC assessment. If candidates hold the CS30 Chainsaw maintenance certificate this course can be completed in one day.

- Correct starting and pre-cutting procedure
- Pruning and cutting techniques
- Removing a trapped saw
- Clearing the site and pruning saw checks

Who is the course for?
This course is suitable for candidates who are currently working in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture or Woodland and wish to obtain the certificate.

- NPTC candidates must be over 16 years old
Equipment requirements
- PPE: Type C chainsaw trousers, hard hat with ear & eye protection, gloves and steel toe-cap boots with chainsaw protection
- Pole pruner/saw
- Fuel & oil
- Maintenance kit
- Filing kit suitable to users chainsaw
Please ensure all equipment is PUWER compliant and PPE is in good condition. Equipment is available for hire if candidates do not yet have their own. Please contact the office for cost.
