Course description
Generally, when starting out as a tree surgeon the first role is the Groundsman. Our complete Groundsman training package will provide you all the necessary training and NPTC assessments required, along with hazard awareness training and a talk from our expert tree surgeons discussing the role of the groundsman. This 3 week course can either be attended in a 3 week block or spaced out into individual sections.
The start of your first week will cover a discussion on the roles of the groundsman, hazard awareness training and manually fed wood chipper training. Your first week will end with your Chainsaw Maintenance & Cross Cutting training and assessments. Your second week will cover Felling Trees Up To 380mm. You will learn how to fell trees in a variety of forms, and how to deal with hung up trees. Tree Climbing & Aerial Rescue is the last week of your groundsman training. You will learn how to access and climb trees, learn how to climb a pole and perform aerial rescue.

It is ideal for all candidates who wish to gain all the necessary qualifications necessary to become a fully qualified groundsman within Arboriculture. This course is also ideal to employers who would like to fast track their staff into a being a groundsman they can rely on to send out with their teams.
